It Was Like He Was Singing Just To Me

At this very moment, I'm looking at a picture of Craig Morgan, Deanna and I. It's hanging on my cubicle wall, right next to the Elvis calendar. Elvis and Craig... what a combination. Being that Elvis is dead sorta puts a damper on his sex appeal, but I don't like to think about that.

I drove out with Heather and Deanna to the Alaska State Fair to see Country Idol Winner Bridget Sullivan open for Craig Morgan. Bridget took my breath away with her performance... MAN, to be able to sing like her! She belts out songs like one breathes... except she sounds really good and not like... well, not like someone just breathing.

I've never met an actual celebrity before...(with the exception of Matt Valley, of course!)so it was an awesome experience to actually shake Craig Morgan's hand and pose with him for a photo. He was very pleasant and even commented on my glasses. His exact words were, "I really like your glasses" which of course translated to: "We're both married so I can't sing love songs to you even though if we met twenty years ago..." But then that would have made me only ten and that doesn't sound too romantic. So scratch that. The man just liked my glasses. Or maybe he was just looking for an excuse for me to let go of his hand that I shook for a good sixty seconds.

If you haven't had the chance to see Craig in concert, then you're missing a great show. And keep an eye out for Bridget Sullivan... I'm sure we're going to be hearing a lot from her in the years to come.

Bridget will be appearing at the North Slope Restaurant in Eagle River in the next couple of weeks. She is awesome! I caught her show at the North Slope a few weeks ago and she rocked the house. Definately worth the drive to Eagle River!

I am her Dad and I dare you to ask me if I am very proud of her. She does have an exceptional voice and so pleasant to listen too. If you know anything about country music she is a Patsy Cline Re-Born. What I am also very proud of is the fact that she has a great stage presents and she makes you keep watching and listening. The first night that the Country Mile Band and Bridget sang together in public at the North Slope Restaurant, Eagle River there were standing ovations. It was just plain great music. My wife and I are so excited. Bridget is in her last year of college (UAA) and a music major, she graduates in May and then watch out Nashville and country music. I would suggest seeing her as much as you can now before you have to pay to see her in concert. "Proud Parents" Len "Sully" and Yvonne Sullivan
