It's All About Timing
That's just how I roll.
I arrived just in time to hear Contestant #11 belt out her rendition of 'Sin Wagon'. I couldn't have asked for a better entrance.
There was an awesome display of talent last night and if you weren't there you missed a party. That's right, I said party. Not only were the contestants entertaining, but there were interesting things going on with the audience. Such as one lady being slightly forced to sing "Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy." Don't confuse the shy lady with our own Deanna who sang with style when Contestant #19 put the microphone to her face. I was very proud. Anytime a person is put on the spot to sing in front of a huge crowd the following, "SAVE A HORSE, RIDE A COWBOY" with the feeling and emotions the song deserves, I get a tad bit emotional. That's true art, people.
Three little girls, one our very own Trill's little girl Olivia, dancing to Contestant #17 Reba's hit, "Why Haven't I Heard From You?" They were quite good, showing off new dance moves that I haven't even heard of. I must admit, I was quite jealous. I must find out where they learned those moves... but I digress.
The highlight of the evening was Olivia. Not to take away from the other contestants, but there is something about a pretty blonde little girl taking in the audience with the song "Love" blowing Shirley Temple right out of the water. She rocked. Or countryed. Whichever.
Next week, Country Idol will be at Players House of Rock, your last chance before the finale at Settler's Bay. Wearing cowboy boots are an option. Wearing clothes and having a great time... A MUST.
